Crafts

It looks like a designer paper bomb exploded in our apartment. The past two weeks we have been crafting fools! In addition to all of the DIY projects we have taken on for the wedding, I have been putting together a scrapbook for my sister, Ally, as part of her graduation gift. Its been a lot of work, but we are really enjoying it. Well, I don't know if JB is really enjoying the crafting, or crossing things off of the to-do list that I prominently hung on the fridge.

More work on the brooch bouquet. I think we are abandoning this method. After a couple of eBay purchases I think we finally have enough pins (see the "R" pin?!? - LOVE), but it just isn't coming together how we envisioned. This weekend we are going to pick up some more supplies and try another design.

Boom!

Happy 4th of July!
We celebrated on Saturday at Carrie and Dave's house. Dave had lots of fireworks for the guys to play around with. They put on a great show and we had a blast!

Weekend Wedding in Newport

John's good friend Brendan married his college sweetheart last weekend. We flew up to Boston on Friday and spent the day with Kay, her roomie Britt, and my friend Nicole. The weather was perfect and we spent all the time we could sipping on gin and juice in the sunshine. That evening we met up with Dewey, Jess and Jess' family at this super eclectic restaurant in Cambridge called Cuchi Cuchi. The food and atmosphere were amazing. Jess's parents graciously hosted us at their beautiful house for the weekend. Saturday we relaxed by the pool before getting ready to head to Newport. By the afternoon we had met up with all of John's friends that were in town for the wedding. Teddy had just whipped up an awesome seafood lunch, and we made it there in time to watch USA lose to Ghana in the World Cup. Boo. By the time the game was finishing up were ready to head to the wedding.

Ribbon Boutonniere

The guys at the wedding we were at this past weekend were wearing ribbon boutonnieres. Could not be more perfect! Definitely stealing that idea for our wedding. One step closer to a flowerless wedding.
